Hello my Friends!

It is time to get after it.  I am making you all authors on this blog.  Share your training tips, nutrition hints, and things that are working for you to prepare for race day.  It is also time to get some group workouts together.  The snow is melting and I want to get up to the mountains soon.  This week, I thought we could start with a basic circuit training at Jensen Park.

Saturday morning, what is a good time for everyone to meet, if you are able?  Here is what I propose:

Running the asphalt trail loop, rain or shine, and we make this a 60 minute circuit. Go at your own pace. At each stationary bench, you have to stop and perform the following:  1st bench - step ups x 30, 2nd bench dips or incline pushups x 20, 3rd bench 20 squats.  Then start over at the next bench.

I will be there if you want to join me.

At this point, we all need to be working on grip strength, pull ups, and upper body strengthening for the obstacles, specifically the walls, rope climb and the uneven monkey bars.  Here are some examples of what I am talking about:

We can do this!  It is time to get serious!  Let's go!

Challenge for next week:  Burpees!  Yes, they are not fun, but they are one of the best overall exercises, and will be a factor for this race as 30 must be done if an obstacle cannot be passed.  So my challenge to you is to do at least 20 Burpees each day next week, at least 5 of the days.  Who is in?

I am planning some big group workouts coming up!
